AMERICAN lightweight Ryan Healy is living the dream.
When asked to name his career highlight, the humble 26-year-old from Portland, Oregon said he enjoyed seeing himself progress day-after-day, fight-after-fight.
“I’m training at Team Quest and I’m doing what I love to do,” Healy told cfcworld.com.au.
“Being able to fight for a living is the greatest thing I could ever accomplish.”
Healy opened up Queenslander Jai Bradney to win an international lightweight bout at CFC 12 and immediately spoke of returning to fight for the organisation’s lightweight title some time in the future.
“My ultimate dream is to rise to the top to be world champion, but I’d love to come back here to fight for the (CFC lightweight) title,” Healy said.
“It’d be a dream.”
If granted his wish, Healy would probably face Bernardo ‘Trekko’ Magalhaes, who defeated reigning champion Adrian Pang on the same card as the American’s battle against Bradney.
Magalhaes, who suffered a head wound and needed to be stitched up in the dressing room after his torrid clash against Pang, won via decision to take his record to an impressive 10 wins from 11 starts.
