Richie Vas Interview
How long have you been fighting?
I started training and competing Jujitsu when i was about 19. I then had my first MMA fight when i was 23. I have continued training for MMA since then.
Why do you fight?
I fight because i love competing. I like to keep fit, and i like training with my mates. So fighting, preparing for fights is a great way to combine all of that. Its a great lifestyle.
Your fighting for the title how important is this match?
Its extremely important. Its something i have been aiming for, for some time. Im very excited.
What do you know about and how have you prepared for your opponent?
I know he has a good record and is a BJJ black belt, so i have been training a lot of jujitsu with good black belts, but not neglecting any of my other training for mma. Also worked on my strength and conditioning so i can go the 5x5 rounds if i need to.
How do you see this fight going?
Im not big on predictions, but im very confident. And i see my hand being raised at the end.
Is there anyone you would like to thank?
All the people that have helped with my training .TP fight gym, Kick Tactics and Gracie Sydney. My friends and family. And my sponsors ASN, Rhino Mouthgaurds and Jetpilot and Melonhead juice bar.
